I, Nick (also known as authenticgeek), have just attempted to place a USB cable in to an Ethernet jack (RJ45) afterwords asking myself 'Why doesn't this work now?'
I must be really tired.

Been there, done that. 'Course mine was a laptop power cable into the Ethernet jack.
'Why doesn't the power come on? What the heck is wrong?'
I guess you could say I was lucky the power didn't come on.
