Don't Tempt Me!

January 26, 2004

Especially not with the tylenol PM. My life has become pretty repetitive in terms of poor sleep patterns.
Some background info: Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday I have to get up at 7.30 to go to class. On Tuesdays, Thursdays and weekends, I can sleep until whenever I want (roughly) and I usually sleep until 11 since I get such crappy sleep on the other days. Every night, I get pretty tired after dinner (~7 PM) and no matter whether I take a nap or not, I am always awake again by 12. If I go to sleep at 12, I toss and turn until 1.30 at the earliest. Possibly worse if I take a nap earlier. This leaves getting up at 7.30 a pretty painful task.
Yes, when I don't have to be up at 7.30 I normally go to sleep at 2 or 3 in the morning but on those days it's hard to get to sleep at 12 anyway because of all the noise around here.

Any ideas for freeing me from my rut? I'm currently working on going to sleep when I'm tired, whenever that is. I figure I'll even myself out eventually - might be hard getting there though. I sure think a 3 three hour time difference and consistant weekday wake ups are positive but I'm still waiting on that one.

Take away those naps and turn the 7:30 into 6:50, and you've got my life. But then, my body's just stupid. You might wanna try to get yourself up at 9ish on the days you can sleep in; you'll then either be tired earlier or you can get a good daily system with napage.
The only thing the three hour time difference did to me was make me stay up til I was about to fall asleep standing up and then wake up really early anyway. But then, your body is remotely normal. Still waiting with you in hopes that you can come out west. I feel like it'd really be your place out here; or maybe that's just for my sake.

I have pretty much the same deal, except tuessdays and thursdays often a little earlier than yours. I found that I really need to wake up around the same (1+/- hour) every day, and usually go to bed within two hours of the same time every night. It sucks for the first three or four days but becomes clockwork.

Learn to enjoy the little gray rings under your eyes?
