Hi there,

The content on this blog is all archival, it's no longer active and you won't be able to post comments or trackbacks. If you're looking for active content from the same source, you should check out Nick's Vox blog.

Blogs: Linking and Stealing?

March 9, 2004

I've added some new blog links to my quicklinks dropdown menu (and taken away some as well). My reasoning behind it all is to make this site more interesting. Readership is a oft-coveted commodity and while I know that more than 35 unique IPs visit the site every day, barely a fraction of them comment. By changing the format from mostly personal to more topics that people can find an opinion on, I'd like to get more readers to comment.
Back to my links - I've never kept a decent amount of links available on this site but the nearly infinite space I can use within the quicklinks allows me to add more so that'll be updated with blogs I read and just have never linked to in the future. I'm keeping decent, often updated personal blogs on the list as well as opinion-blogs I find interesting. If you'd like to be included, just shoot me an email.

On a similar note: Slashdot ran an article with 'proof that bloggers steal their content.' While I agree that bloggers often take content from each other, I don't consider it 'stealing' any more than CNN showing coverage from a local news station is. Perhaps it could be better summed up as just another opinion on the subject and most blogs cite where they've picked up their information. Clearly, this is a little different than the image copyright discussion on the TypePad forums a bit back.
