Completely Selfish

September 8, 2004

I wanted to make a mix for some of my friends the didn't follow my normal mix patterns. Normally I make mixes for specific people based on songs that I associate with them - either something that I know they like or something that reminds me of them. Similarly, my mixes don't make much sense if you're not that person so they're not often shared around. This time, however, I wanted to create a mix that represented my music tastes, thus the title: 'Completely Selfish.' I guess it's not quite a completely selfish mix since I know everyone who listens to it will know at least one song on it. Similarly, I want everyone to not know at least one song on it and perhaps even like that one song.

My other goals were to only use tracks available on the iTunes Music Store so anyone could download it if they wanted it (via the iMix!). That didn't work out quite perfectly but it's more reason to get a CD from me. The non-iMix version of Completely Selfish is what I'm going to call the Extended Version and it just includes songs that the iTMS doesn't have. I'd like to send a physical CD to some of the people I know in real life but if I don't know you and you want one, send me an email or comment and I'll whip you up a copy.
