Headphone Woes...

December 4, 2004

As I pointed out here, I got new headphones a few weeks ago and they're great, I don't think I'm "used" to them yet though. I've been getting headaches that might coinide with them and it kindof bothers me. At first, I think it was because they were clamping on to the sides of my head pretty tightly and I was getting strange mini-headaches between my ears and temples (right where they put the most pressure). That's basicly gone away now on account of them being slightly more broken in and because I've been moving them around on my head to make sure they don't sit in one spot for too long. Now I'm getting some really strange feeling in the lower part of my ear that may be associated with the length of time that I wore my iPod earbuds the other day (I don't take my HD497's to work every day) and the strangest part is that it feels like I have the exact same pain in another locations, the lower front of my throat. They feel like the same pain only in two locations at the same time which just baffles to mind, really. I've been listening to music at a lower level or through speakers rather than headphones today and it's been a little better. I listen to some music loudly but it's never been loud enough that it hurts my ears in the long or short run. At any rate, I haven't had any one problem for more than a few days so I hope it's just a matter of getting used to new headphones although I've never heard of anyone needing to get used to new, better sounding headphones.

Perl is no fun with a headache. This is why I point that out.

As Arnold would say "it's not a tumor". Glad it's gone away.
