Nutcase; Grade-A. $0.10 for 12

February 5, 2005

"According to the Scriptures, it's the government's job to enforce God's law and to uphold his law, and the Bible talks about how, I don't want to really get into this — it'll make me sound like I'm crazy — but it does talk about how [homosexuals] are to be put to death. The wages of sin is death. But I want to make [it] clear that I'm not advocating the [independent] killing of homosexuals. … I'm saying that the government's duty is to uphold God's law. … I know that's harsh, but we have all broken the law, God's law, and we need to be held accountable."

Philly's CityPaper has some really interesting articles once in a while and this is one of them. This is a guy that goes far beyond my idea of right-wing. For example, he suggests that Bush is too liberal. I don't really want to get in to a discussion about it because I'm still in shock whenever someone can manipulate religious text to the point that it allows killing and outright hatred. Not that I'm a fan of religious texts either but last I checked, no major religion had earned the nickname "bloodbath."

Aside, trackbacks are currently off since I was getting a steady stream of tb spam and blacklist simply doesn't do a good job of catching them. I implemented my custom solution to comment spam which has completely nullified every attempt at spamming comments since it's been up. Hopefully I can get a similar trackback solution up soon so real trackbacks can be enabled.
