When I Argue I See Shapes

October 5, 2005

Holy shit, Idlewild does not disappoint.
Some surprisingly decent phonecam shots of the show on flickr. I got there just as the doors were opening at 7:30 and parked myself upfront. Idlewild shows are not to be experienced from the back row and I forgot to bring my glasses anyway. After a mostly bearable opening band (Inara George), I enjoyed just over an hour and a half worth of really excellent scottish rock. Although the setlist selection weighed heavily towards the Warnings/Promises album, they threw in some really great old songs from Hope is important like I'm a message and When I argue I see shapes (I don't think I've ever seen them live without hearing shapes though). A couple tracks from 100 Broken Windows even made it in to the show. They're a highly recommended live show - probably the best shows I've ever been to.
