Undesign?

February 5, 2006

What do you call a redesign when you love your design so much that you can't bring yourself to change it too much but you know it needs some love?

If you were waiting for a witty answer, I don't really know. I've reworked the look of the front page here and I'll be slowly migrating the changes to the rest of the pages. I guess I started thinking about this when Jamie posted about ten common usability mistakes on blogs. I don't agree with all of them but I think there's always room for improvement. I was hoping to get dynamic pages working too but I'm just not feeling that talented today. It's all in preperation for new features for StatWatch that I want to include on the published side and I'm sure everyone that cares is already subscribed to the right feed for that kind of news.

Yes, I did think about posting about this on my livejournal first. Yes, that does mean that this is a very sad state of my MT blog. I'll be the first to admit that the other Nick has got me thinking about interesting ways to play with MT again though. Expect geeky things.

That's a really great self portrait you used to fix usability problem two.

Thanks!

I agree.
