Continue: The Art-English Saga

January 21, 2004

We were dumped on to the topic of the State of the Union address today in Art-English. By discussing this, we pushed back another day of attempting to discuss The Shape of Content but it's worth it.
What I wasn't aware of was that we have at least two Bush supporters in our class. There are two others (as well as myself) who are vocally anti-Bush so we were having a pretty decent conversation. The Bush-ers seem to think that all anyone concentrates on is the fact that his public speaking skills aren't top notch. They have little defense beyond that but there are a lot more people out there that think the same way and will actually argue that Bush and war are the right things to support.
Thanks, it's your opinion.

What are we reading in Art-English next? Russian Sci-fi of course!
I don't get it.

My wife and I knew we are liberals before but after listening to Bush's state of the union address we are sure :) Your previous post of the shorten version of the speech pretty much hit everything on the head of the nails...

Now that I've read the "contents" of his address, I'm more certain than ever that that man embodies what I wish to fight against.

And as for Art-English, my understanding is once you've read through the Russian Sci-Fi, you move on to Norwegian/Mongolian Opera. THEN, and only THEN will it all fall into place. :)
