A Warm Day in "The Yay"

October 10, 2004

I can hardly believe that tomorrow is my first day of work.

Yesterday I traveled down to Palo Alto to check out some promising apartments, one of which looks really nice. It's a little smaller than I had wanted but it's in a really nice area near Stanford and the Palo Alto Caltrain station so I really can't complain - I really don't take up all that much space anyway. I should be able to figure out if I can get the space within a day or two. I think it'll be a good space for me for the moment, at least. I am efficient!
I finished Angels and Demons yesterday as well. I started reading it on the plane Thursday and I've been reading it on the train and when I've had some free time since then (Why am I always on a plane or a fast train? Oh, what a world...). I don't recall if I mentioned that I read Deception Point last week when I was out here but now that I've read three Dan Brown books, predicting the outcome of any given situation in his books is not a difficult task. I enjoy the interesting facts and the suspense but by no means do they challenge how you perceive something and I really enjoy a good book that challenges my ways of thinking. I'm probably in the wrong genre for this kind of thing.

Anyway, back to where I started, I'm really excited for my first day or work tomorrow. Getting there from Piedmont via public transportation (partially, at least) is going to be an adventure but I shall survive. Thanks to everyone who wished me well in work and life, I'm really enjoying the area and I think things are going to be really great!

Nick! I'm so proud of you for using the Yay!!! Don't you feel like a better Californian now? You can now soon expect Ahnold himseld on your doorstep to personally welcome you to that great state.

Good luck at work tomorrow!

My suitemate Anna who's from the Yay says that Burlingame is damned nice and Belmont is as well. She says getting a car helps a bunch in the Bay area. Plus you can see all the beautiful things that are around that trains don't take you to. (direct quote).

w00t.

How was your first day of work!?!?!?!?

No. really. next time someone i give a damn about MOVES ACROSS THE FREAKING COUNTRY, could someone, anyone at all, let me know?

'Cause that'd be awesome.

I'm sorry! Come out and visit?
