Co-founder of Pyra leaves Google
October 5, 2004
Evan Williams of Blogger fame is deciding what to do next.
Whenever someone with a great impact on blogging leaves their position to pursue other things (think of Meg from megnut.com who seems be having quite a fine time as a chef), I get ambitious. Usually, the 'goodbye, I'll be doing other things for a while' post included snippets of their accomplishments and if it doesn't, the hundreds of other posts referencing it will. This is no exception. When I look at all the accomplishments of these people that leave, I am utterly in awe. Even though blogging is still at such an early stage, these people have been working for many years and may be considered the very founders of their own companies as well as the idea of blogging as a whole. Most importantly for me, I look at these people who are just stepping out of the door and, as someone with his foot barely inside, I want to be able to contribute as much and on such a scale as they have. There's not much more to say about that - I can't wait to get out to meet and work with some really brilliant people. Perhaps people that'll I'll be able to write about in a few years with a little more knowledge of who they are rather than just what they've done.
