You know your blog has a small scope when you get more responses to your posts in person than you do as comments on your blog.

The original inspiration for this geek bad search was a bag of Tom's that he got while in Prague somewhere on the street. I recall him having to reinforce the location where the straps met the bag but other than that, it was a very nice bag. I don't recall if it was orange or red but it was a corduroy-ish feel on the outside and just a big empty space inside. Since I'm not going to Prague any time soon, I had to continue searching.

Holly suggested that I take a look at the REI store which has a nice seletion of Urban Day Bags. I really liked the Crupler Super Snipe Shoulder Bag (I don't make these names up...) but, like all things REI, it was expensive! The shape is a little funny as well - I wasn't sure I'd like it if I just ordered it without seeing it and since I don't really have access to an REI store, this one was out of the question.

Alex suggested that I check out a website with some nice shoulder bags after I found the bag that I think I like but for dramatic effect, I'll talk about it before I get to the end of my story. He pointed me to WaterField Designs Online Store which has some really nice looking bags. Unfortunately, I can't link to them directly without breaking their site because of the site design. I can say that I really like the overall look of these bags but I have trouble thinking about how big the bags are or what the inside of the bag looks like. The pictures of the bags are definitely pretty, just not very helpful. If you're browsing their site, I definitely like any of the items in their Suite Spot collection - most notably the small or medium cargo bags. And since you surely pay for style and quality, these bags are expensive! Again, no way to tell if I like them enough to buy them online.

So, the bag I decided on came from a Yahoo Online Store called Solis. It appears that they sell older items (eyewear, watches, bags, etc) from higher-priced brand names at much less than their original cost. I saw a group of bags from a company that I've never heard of before (Goorin) and I picked one that I liked. Pictures in this store aren't any better than any other store online but fortunately, this bag was cheap and I could pay for it by paypal. It should be here in a few days so fret not, I will return with a full description of the product. Thanks to anyone that made suggestions!
