Out of it

March 6, 2005

My patterns are totally off.
I have a comfortable and easily explainable weekly sleep pattern that just isn't going as it usually does. I'm going to blame this on two things - first is the pain of my wisdom teeth and the second is the painkillers I'm taking. Previously when I was taking tylenol, I would have a night once in a while when it just wouldn't work and I'd be tossing and turning all night in an almost-sleep mode. Those days are hopefully all behind me (see previous entry). Assuming I'm not out doing something, my weekend sleep schedule usually goes like this: depending on the stress of the week, I'd stay up until 2 at latest on Friday. I'd then sleep in until anywhere from 11 to 1 the next morning. Saturday night it would simply be hard to get to sleep if I tried before 2 so I'm usually up until 3 or 4, sleeping in until somewhere between 11 or 1 again. Sunday is always hardest to get to sleep although I try to get up at 7.30 for work on Monday. It's not unusual for me to be up until 5 on a Sunday. This weekend has totally thrown me off though. I went to sleep at 12 or 1 on Friday or Saturday and judging from how I'm feeling now, I don't think it'll be too much different tonight. However, I'm still sleeping until 12 or 1 and I'm not feeling rested when I do wake up. So something is wrong and I intend on getting the 'somethings' removed from my head at the earliest convenient time. I'm incredibly moody too. The pain comes and goes and seems to coincide with my disposition. I suggest you wait until after I've taken my advil before approaching me with more work to do.

Along the same lines, I'll be totally fucking with my schedule next week as I head off for a week in Philly to visit friends and family. And judging from my dreams this weekend, you can bet that I'm flying. I hate flying. You know that. I'm going to have to put a little more effort in to getting drugs to make me incredibly easygoing in the next couple of days. Like tomorrow.

And by the way, it's been warm this weekend.
