Ready to Return

March 14, 2005

I've only been back on the east coast for a couple days now but I think I'm ready to go home. The only thing keeping me from calling the airline to see if I can get on an earlier flight is the fact that I get to see Tom on Thursday. Of course, he's in Florida for the beginning of this week... the tables have truly turned.

I really did enjoy seeing my friends so far but coming back to car-requiring-suburbia (not that Palo Alto isn't suburbia, I guess - it's just accessible suburbia) really sucks. And it's colder now (March, Philadelphia) than it ever was all winter in San Francisco. I'm either still infatuated or really in love with my new city. I know a lot of east coasters who are only out on the west coast indefinitely and temporarily (they want to go back but don't know when they'll be going back) but I get the feeling that it's not something that they've gained over time - they knew this from the start. I, on the other hand, am not sure that the move west is such a temporary relocation.
