Too Much Week
May 30, 2005
This is the week! I'm moving in to the city in Wednesday and getting my wisdom teeth (all four, yes) taken out on Friday. It's going to be crazy.
The long weekend has been pretty nice. I went to two improv shows at Stanford on Friday and Saturday night and they were pretty good. I don't think I'll miss it too much though - on occasion I get somewhat anxious around a lot of people in a college setting since I fit in so poorly. Having some social time with a regular set of people that seem nice and normal will be a welcome addition to my time at home. I'd like to keep my time to work on projects as well... perhaps the social time will eat up all the moments that I waste on this or that. The routine will be slightly different too, I think (hope). Busses run every ten minutes or so from right outside to Market which is about 15 minutes walk time to work. I ended up walking all the way from new home to work I'd like to start leaving work when I'm done with something rather than whenever the train is. Biking to work may also appear in the future (most likely after the 'getting a bike' step) although I'm a little worried when bikemaster Jamison doesn't feel comfortable riding to work through all the crazy drivers anymore.
So, only a couple days in the new place before I find myself in a lot of pain. I was at the oral surgeon office last week and it's SO much nicer than the place I originally went to (months ago). I got the details of all the crazy drugs I get to be pumped full of so I don't recall a thing - and that's great! Who wants to remember someone forcibly removing the four largest teeth you have from the very back of your mouth? That weekend promises to be a barrel of monkeys.
Of course, I have something to look forward to the week after that. 21!
Oh, I forgot. A couple days after the birthday is Doves! And then a couple days after that is Spoon! I haven't been to a concert in a while...
