RoboNexus 2005

October 8, 2005

I took a short trip to RoboNexus 2005 in San Jose today and came back with a couple pictures.
The event itself was pretty hidden. I couldn't figure out where the actual expo was until I asked someone. Not to mention the fact that San Jose looks like a pretty sleepy town on the weekends. There were more little kids at the event than I cared to count and most of the tables were geared towards that kind of audience although a couple very salesman-looking tables existed and looked somewhat out of place since the kids deemed them as boring. I'd rather sit down with some of these creators and get a really good look at what they're doing and why they're doing it rather than hearing the 30 second version and then being pushed aside so they can tell the 30 second version to someone else. I suppose I have to pay the real $300+ conference fee for that, wouldn't I...

At any rate, it was a good train trip down to San Jose (I haven't been on caltrain in a while) and I got to see my old apartment in Palo Alto as we pulled away. Nice day outside, too. I made "maybe" plans with a couple people to go to the Sutro Baths ruins out in golden gate park tomorrow so let's hope it's just as nice.
